Workspaces, scenarios & planning

How to manage datasets, compare runs, apply what-if scenarios, overrides, and safety stock recommendations.

Workspaces

A workspace is one dataset and its forecast history within your org.

Action Where Who
Create workspace Workspaces → New Admin+
Upload data Workspace → Upload Analyst+
Run forecast Workspace → Run Analyst+
Connect ERP/eCommerce Workspace → Connectors Admin+ (Growth+)
IP allowlist Workspace security Admin+ (Growth+)

Each workspace maps to an isolated dataset in your tenant database. Deleting a workspace removes its runs and uploads (irreversible).

Compare runs

Open Compare (/compare) to overlay two completed runs on the same series.

Mode Tier Purpose
Compare All Side-by-side actual vs two forecast runs
What-if scenario Growth+ Ephemeral transform on top of a base run

What-if scenarios (Growth+)

On the What-if scenario tab:

  1. Pick a completed run as the base forecast.
  2. Choose transform: multiply, shift, or drop series.
  3. Set value, optional date range, and series filter.
  4. Preview chart — base (solid) vs scenario (dashed).

Scenarios are preview only — they do not retrain the model or persist unless you export or discuss in planning sessions.

Preset templates (tariff, supply disruption) apply common transforms for category or date windows.

Manual overrides

Overrides replace model output for specific series and months.

  1. Open a completed run → select series → Override.
  2. Enter replacement quantity for target months.
  3. Overrides show separately from model forecast in exports and charts.

Overrides respect forecast lock (WF-002) — locked date ranges block edits until an admin unlocks.

Forecast workflow (Growth+)

Step Feature Description
Submit WF-001 Analyst submits run for approval
Approve / reject WF-001 Admin approves; approved runs restrict overrides
Lock WF-002 Freeze a date range against further overrides
Review tasks WF-004 Assign series to teammates with due dates
@mentions WF-003 Tag colleagues in notes with email alerts
Planning session WF-005 Agency — parallel override editing with conflict detection

Safety stock & replenishment

After a completed run, open Safety stock (FC-013):

  • Recommendations from forecast quantiles + lead time + service level
  • Margin-prioritized ranking (FC-013-M, Growth+) when revenue data exists

Use the ranking to focus replenishment on high-value SKUs first.

Scheduled retraining

Growth+ can schedule automatic runs (weekly/monthly). Scheduled runs count against monthly quota. Configure per workspace under run settings.

Best practices

  1. Name workspaces by region or business unit — easier Agency roll-ups.
  2. Re-run after data fixes — overrides do not fix bad history.
  3. Use events for promotions before blaming the model for spikes.
  4. Compare before overriding — check if a new run already absorbed the change.
  5. Lock after approval — prevents accidental edits during S&OP sign-off.
